Our Executive Team with our parent company, Unleashed Brands, as well as our Urban Air Adventure Park Executive Team, is highly experienced in the franchise industry, but that’s not all. These men and women embody all of the qualities of our successful franchisees – they’re invested in kids and committed to providing opportunities for families to connect via active play, they’re innovative in their ideas and pursuits, and they’re “all in” in their commitment to help others own and operate community-changing Urban Air Adventure Parks.
Starting in childhood, those who watched Michael’s passion for business, recognized an innate ability and vision that would help him overcome obstacles and push him to succeed. It was this passion and determination combined with his ability to turn what is “typical” upside down is what has driven Michael’s success in creating two companies, Phoebos Partners which applied innovative data analytics to drive profitability and innovation in healthcare and Urban Air Adventure Parks, a differentiated, scalable indoor amusement park that didn’t just give kids a place to play but a place to become better people. Having spent years as an entrepreneur, Michael leads the team with true insight into the challenges that new businesses face and he doggedly pushes the team to look for new ways to overcome obstacles and break down barriers to achieving success.
After 17+ years practicing law in the areas of franchising, real estate, construction, compliance, insurance and regulatory matters, Stephen has seen it all from both the franchise and the corporate sides. This gives him the unique ability to anticipate challenges and obstacles before they happen. Stephen’s experience across multiple areas of law ensures allows him to be the first part of the one-two punch that allows the team to push the envelope – but within all guidelines set by respective states.
Josh Wall, CFE
Relationship building has always been a passion for Josh and was central to his success in over 15 years in franchising at Christian Brothers Automotive Corporation increasing units to 250 units across 29 states and creating a sophisticated development strategy at Urban Air. The ability to be a true partner and sounding board to colleagues has helped him attract franchisees, negotiate strong leases, and create stronger teams. Josh is a Certified Franchise Executive through the International Franchise Association and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Scott Perry, CFE
Scott is the other of the one-two punch team that keeps us on the rails so that we can continue to push without going off track. With 25+ years of experience across finance, accounting, business modeling and M&A among other areas, Scott’s financial acumen ensures that we aren’t just developing the best businesses for the consumer, but the best businesses for the bottom line. And his experience growing Sport Clips from 400 to 1800 units means that he understands franchising and its unique challenges.
Jessica has what she calls “a mosaic marketing background” having spent 25+ years in marketing across travel & hospitality, multi-unit retail, fitness and family entertainment in both public and privately held companies. She has a passion for learning about what makes consumers tick and she uses that insight to drive revenue whether through innovations in product development or the latest in media. And, as important, she knows how and when to take advantage of scale to drive efficiencies in marketing delivery without sacrificing brand and product attributes that make companies unique.
Peter has over 25 years of professional experience in the field of Information Technology. He has worked in a vast array of industries including insurance, healthcare, aerospace, automotive and family entertainment for both private and publicly held corporations. His experience is very diverse including working with network engineers, software engineers, and enterprise architects. He has a passion for technology, and he knows how to leverage technology to drive innovation and success.
Three decades of experience with Six Flags, Inc. means that Jay understands every detail of how to operate a business from staffing efficiently to managing a complex P&L to making sure you are following all safety and regulatory guidelines. And, he always makes it fun, listening and supporting along the way. During his tenure in the entertainment attractions industry, he has served in executive roles as diverse as Administration, Operations, HR, IT, and Marketing. He also won Park President of the year as the President of Magic Mountain which competed directly with Disneyland.
As an accomplished leader with four decades of multi-unit operations experience, Tim Sharp serves as Senior Vice President of Operations for Urban Air where he oversees park operations, brand standard compliance, park maintenance, safety, and new park openings. He joined Urban Air in 2019 after serving in key leadership positions that assisted in the rapid growth of brands such as Dickey’s Barbecue, Inc., Cracker Barrel, Chevys Fresh Mex and California Pizza Kitchen.
Jeremy Hoyum is the Senior Vice President of Park Performance for Urban Air. Jeremy currently is volunteering on the FEC Committee for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions and is the Chair of the FEC Education subcommittee. He believes that the success of the family entertainment industry revolves around providing a critical service to communities through helping to create memorable experiences for family and friends. Jeremy has over twenty years of experience in bowling and family entertainment centers. He helped create and operate the Amazing Jake’s brand and changed the big box pizza concept to what is now Jake’s Unlimited. While at Jake’s Unlimited he won two coveted Brass Rings Awards, one for Top Family Entertainment Center of the World and another for the Best New Food Item. They were the first FEC to win a food award for Iaapa. As a former paratrooper in the US Army, Jeremy brings leadership, discipline, and problem-solving ingenuity to all aspects of his operational success.
Serving as Senior Vice President of Supply Chain at Urban Air Adventure Parks, Boruff oversees Food, Beverage, and Merchandise Supply and Distribution. Partnering with a large vendor network, the Supply Chain team is focused on adding value and enabling growth throughout the Urban Air System. Prior to Urban Air, Boruff served as Vice President of Supply Chain at Cicis Pizza / JMC Restaurant Distribution, a self-distributed national Pizza Chain. Boruff also spent 15 years with the family entertainment brand CEC Entertainment (Chuck E. Cheese’s), with leadership roles in Finance and Supply Chain. Boruff is and alumnus of Stephen F. Austin, where he received a BBA in Finance and Management. Boruff has an MBA from University of Dallas.
Abby Crowley is the Vice President of Park Development for Urban Air. Abby previously worked with Michael Browning, founder of Urban Air, from 2011-2014 at a medical device company. Once Urban Air began to grow as a franchise, Abby came on board to begin to develop the new locations. Abby began working with Urban Air when there were 7 operating locations. She has helped open 150+ locations since starting with the company. Prior to joining the team, Abby took a 15-month sabbatical and backpacked around the world. She has a B.A in Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington.
James Franks joined Urban Air Indoor Adventure Parks as Vice President of Franchise Development in 2019. James has over twenty-five years experience and a history of success with franchise companies, working domestically and internationally including such iconic & new/emerging brands as: 1-800 Flowers, Red Mango, Dunkin Brands, Baskin-Robbins, Neighborly (formerly The Dwyer Group), Pie Five Pizza and Pro-Cuts, Yogurtland & Bottle @ Bottega. Over his career, James has successfully awarded thousands of new franchise locations throughout the United States and worked with new and existing franchise groups in several other countries. James has earned a reputation among franchisors for implementing strategic programs that yield validated results. James’ passion lies in working with franchisors who are ready to grow their brands to the next level – in the right way with a clearly define process and plan. He has a validated reputation of building a franchise development department from the ground up in all phases. He understands the process along with his proven experience in working to develop not only the team, but creating and implementing the systems, marketing & PR messaging, the power of a FDD, market planning and more for both domestic, international, traditional, and non-traditional franchise opportunities.
Support at Urban Air Adventure Parks. She leads the Franchise Support Team, who supports all operations of the Parks. She oversees all support systems, including Urban Air University, and facilitates all training programs for the brand. Jessie manages the internal communication with all Franchisees, including any systemwide initiatives or Program rollouts. She comes from a strong hospitality background, serving in Operations, Training, and Support roles with Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and Jamba Juice for the last 15 years. Jessie has built training programs from the ground up at all levels within the organization, helped open 60+ restaurants, trained over 500 Managers, and has an intense passion for supplying the right tools and resources to get the job done. Jessie holds a B.S. in Psychology and Business from Louisiana State University and a Masters of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Tim Massey, CPA
Tim Massey is an accomplished financial accounting executive with over 25 years of experience leading the accounting functions of multiple retail operations. Tim joined Unleashed Brands in 2021 serving as the VP of Finance. Prior to Unleashed, he spent the previous 9 years helping propel the Sport Clips franchise from 800 locations to 1,800+ locations as their Controller and VP of Finance. Additional positions have included CFO for MyEyeDr an optical retailer in the Washington DC area and also as Controller for Mattress Warehouse for 12 years. Tim specializes in establishing accounting functions, systems, and best practices while building lasting business/financial relationships to cement goal surpassing performance-to-plan year over year. Tim is a graduate of Mt. St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD and is a Certified Public Accountant.
